Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Tel Aviv has the full right to act freely in Syria in order to defend its security, stressing his rejection of any position of Iranian forces in Syria near the border.
Netanyahu said at the start of his weekly cabinet meeting that he would begin on Monday a visit to Germany , France and Britain, during which he would meet with leaders of these countries and discuss with them the Iranian nuclear file, adding that his European tour "will revolve around Iran ."

"I will stress an unchangeable fact that Israel will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. I will also stress the fundamental principle that Israel maintains and will continue to maintain its freedom of action against any Iranian military presence in any part of Syrian territory," Netanyahu said.
Israeli media reported last week that diplomatic meetings between Israel and Russia resulted in an agreement between the two sides to allow the Syrian regime's army to regain control of its southern border with Israel, provided that no Iranian forces or Hezbollah or Shiite militias should be there..
The tenth Israeli channel said that the agreement also provides for the non-deployment of any forces from Iran or Hezbollah - allies of the Syrian regime - or any foreign elements on the border, adding that Israel "will maintain its freedom of action within Syria."
