/ Zionist Saudi Arabia is preparing to try 14 Palestinian and Jordanian resident detainees
The "Prisoners
of Conscience" account on Twitter stated that the Saudi authorities are
preparing for the trial sessions of 14 detainees, Palestinian and Jordanian
residents, who are currently in Dhahban prison, within the next few days.
The source added that
among the charges that the prosecution will face them during the trial,
"their support for the Palestinian resistance and the pursuit of
charitable work."
On the other hand,
the Arab Organization for Human Rights in Britain condemned the decision of the
Saudi authorities to refer 21 Jordanian and Palestinian detainees to the
competent criminal court after a year of unlawful detention.
The organization said
in a statement that the detainees were subjected to enforced disappearance and
were not allowed to hire lawyers to defend them.
The statement also
called on the Jordanian government to pressure its Saudi counterpart to release
the detainees.
In September 2017,
Saudi authorities arrested prominent preachers and activists, most notably
Salman al-Awda, Awad al-Qarni, and Ali al-Omari, amid calls by international
and Islamic figures and organizations that they should be released. Recently,
there were reports of the authorities ’intention to issue and implement death
sentences for the three preachers.
